Get to know the FIESC System

The purpose of the FIESC System is to strengthen Santa Catarina industry. Maintained by the companies in the sector and administered with the same criteria for excellence applied to management at the best private companies, it is composed of five entities, with specific missions: the Federation of Industries of Santa Catarina State (FIESC), The Industrial Social Service (SESI/SC), The National Industrial Educational Program (SENAI/SC), The Santa Catarina Center of Industry (CIESC) and The Euvaldo Lodi Institute (IEL/SC).

With strong capillarity, the entities of the FIESC System act in a coordinated and articulated manner to support the development of Santa Catarina industry, even beyond the borders of Santa Catarina. The operation of the entities in the System considers seven strategic guidelines:

- education and citizenship;
- health and quality of life;
- technology and innovation;
- management;
- institutional representation;
- industrial development and the environment.

FIESC

FIESC represents the strength of industry. It is composed of more than 30 thousand companies, which employ nearly 600 thousand people. It is responsible for one third of the wealth generated in Santa Catarina. It unites more than 130 business unions. Its principal mission is to politically and institutionally represent the Santa Catarina industrial sector, promote the synergy of the System and offer services in the areas of foreign commerce, industrial economic policy, infrastructure, the environment, legislation, taxes and labor relations.

CIESC

CIESC operates in articulation with the Federation, offering industrial companies technology solutions that include the marketing, communications and business services sectors, providing specialized consultations to increase productivity at companies.

SESI/SC

With service points throughout the entire state and in other regions of the country, it serves 200 thousand workers per day, with 40 types of services in the areas of healthcare, leisure, education, pharmaceuticals and nutrition. The SESI/SC consulting department also helps companies develop social responsibility programs. With an innovative approach, the services of SESI/SC consider physical, emotional, personal and professional factors, to promote the quality of life of the industrial worker.

SENAI/SC

SENAI’s principal focus is the training of the industrial labor force to develop skills through professional education programs. It also provides technical services for the industrial sector. It has more than 300 laboratories that serve market needs and has diversified its range of services, which are no longer restricted to technical training, but also include higher education and graduate studies. Each year, more than 90 thousand students are enrolled in SENAI/SC and 90 percent get jobs in the labor market. The 34 units throughout the state have trained more than 1.4 million professionals.

IEL/SC

This is the entity of the FIESC System responsible for articulation between companies, research and education centers and development agencies. The products offered by the entity are highlighted by methodologies that stimulate competitiveness in organizations, such as Industrial Benchmarking, the Responsible Internship program and Integrated Innovation Management.
